JAMB, POST UTME CBT EXAMINATION

Mass examination failures of students, canceled examination, missing results, misplaced results (you name it) all mar Paper Pencil tests (PPTs) conducted by examinations bodies such as Jamb, WAEC. The Post UTME examinations conducted by Universities in bid to rescreen University admission seekers are not left out in these nightmares. Even students are afraid of these examinations.
When eventually, the admission body, JAMB, announced the transition of examinations from PPT to Computer Based tests (CBT) there was a mass sigh of relief. Many believe performances will improve with the introduction of CBT. Some reason given are the fairness, uniformity and the speed at which the results are returned.
Moreover, CBT addresses (I’ll say to a large extent) the issues of examination malpractices, canceled examination, missing results, misplaced results and other such issues (which make students pray more than they read - lol).
However, with these advantages of CBT examination also came one major disadvantage – inadequate computer literacy among students. The only solution to this is to learn how to use the computer simply. You only need basic knowledge of computer usage to get you through these CBTs. Another piece of advice is to practice CBT examinations frequently. You need to be familiar with the CBT interface beforehand.
It is in the light of these that E-testpedia (www.e-testpedia.com) launched such a platform for students to practice these exams beforehand. Users can practice questions as many times as they want and configure their exams uniquely by selecting duration, marking scheme and difficulty level of the questions etc.
If a user is registered, a he will have a profile where all his examination performances are saved hence one can view ones performance improvements and ranking
Moreover, users can compare performances with other users globally and country-wise up to subject level. Thus users can rate themselves against others and evaluate their chances in a “survival of the fittest” examination condition.
